Hecuba

Euripides’ tragic play translated by: Anne Carson
Process Collages and Sketches
A play that starts in the end, the Trojan civilization has fallen, slaughtered. The few who remain are a handful of women. They watched their loved ones die, their city burned to the ground, abused and divided up between the Greek bound to be slaves for life.
When designing for this play I was interested in the early times of clothmaking, weaving and using red thread to create the garments with knotting techniques like macramé.
